Ama from Ghana

Condition:  Tumour of both jaws

Operation:  Ama had the first maxillofacial surgery for the facial tumour at Korle-Bu hospital in Accra, Ghana in Nov 2011. The second debulking took place in June 2013.

Current Needs & Updates:  We knew Ama would need two surgeries, and finally she had her second surgery a few weeks ago in June 2013! The second surgery was supposed to be done before Christmas 2012, but for various reasons (she has a rare blood group, for one) it kept getting delayed. Now both tumours have been debulked, and we are expecting to hear good news of a speedy recovery.
