Dedeline from Democratic Republic of the Congo

Name:  Dedeline Mibamba

Location:  Democratic Republic of the Congo

Condition:  Loss of both lower limbs as a teenager in a landmine explosion on the Congo/Angola border.

Prosthetic:  Dedeline has only had one basic set of very old and worn prostheses, but Willing & Abel in conjunction with the Roehampton Ability Clinic and the charity “The Dream” are sorting her out with custom made prostheses.

Current Needs:  Now, at age 30, Dedeline has been in London competing in the paralympic games! It will be the first time she has ever raced the 1500m wheelchair event.
