Salome from Cameroon
Name: Salome
Date of Birth: 2012
Date of Contact:
Location: Northern Cameroon
Condition: Facial burns from falling face first into a fire.
Emergency treatment: Her parents took her to a hospital, but were told to take her home to die. The parents then took her to a local witch doctor, who put rabbit fur on her burns. Salome’s parents eventually contacted Marian, a local missionary, who contacted Willing & Abel for help. Based on advice from a plastic surgeon, Salome was transferred to Meskine mission hospital. There her face was properly dressed to prevent infection.
Current Needs: Salome is all healed up already. There was concern about her eyes being damaged because initially she could not close them, but even they are now perfectly well thanks to the right treatment.
